Big Boulder mountain is just 7 miles from the Preserve. Jack Frost Mountain Resort is 16 miles away. Both ski areas are owned by Vail Resorts and Epic Passes provide access to both mountains as well as 37 ski resorts in the United States, Canada and Australia. Additional Poconos ski resorts are within a short drive.
Five local White Water Rafting businesses
The Mud Run flows into the Lehigh River at the Western border of the Preserve. The Lehigh River hosts five white water rafting tour businesses just outside the Preserve.

The 15,990-acre Hickory Run State Park abuts the Northern and Eastern flanks of the Preserve and has 44 miles of hiking trails. Discover 25-foot Hawk Falls and Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area and a National Natural Landmark. Seasonal hunting is permitted in many areas of the park, with white-tailed deer and black bear among the game that may be hunted legally. Additional hunting opportunities are available in nearby State Game Lands abutting the Southern Border of the Preserve.
Six Golf courses within 30 minutes
Split Rock Country Club (above) is 9 miles from the Preserve. Jack Frost National Golf Club is 14 miles away, Indian Mountain Golf Course is a 14 mile drive and Stone Meadows is 17 miles from the main gate. Additional courses are within a 30 minute drive.

Two new hospitals are nearby: St. Lukes @$80M - 20 minutes away and now open. Lehigh Valley Hospital @$65M - a 30 minute drive and open in the fall of 2021.
